How do I start my own bourbon brand?
Talk with us! The best way to get a sense for the process of starting your own bourbon brand is to talk with someone who’s done it, a lot. We’ve helped dozens of brands—including Five Trail, 15 Stars, Blue Run and Forbidden (among others) create award-winning bourbon expressions. (Not to mention our Bardstown Bourbon and Green River Whiskey brands—award winners in their own right.)
How much does it cost to start a bourbon brand?
Costs can range widely depending on what kind of bourbon you want to make, how much of it you want to produce, and how long you want to age it. We can talk you through those variables to help you calculate your bourbon budget.
What’s the minimum order quantity for new distillation?
As a full-service, end-to-end producer we take on projects of all sizes across the range of distilling, aging, storing, bottling and packaging. But as a general rule we work best with commitments of at least 300 barrels.
Can I buy aged bourbon from you?
Yes. We have a huge variety of mashbills, both bourbon and rye, aging in our rickhouses. These barrels are available for you to bring your project to life.
How do I choose a recipe for my bourbon?
Our team of blenders and distillers will work with you to find the right recipe to express your vision.
What aspects of the whiskey can I customize?
Custom isn’t our middle name for nothing: we offer more than 500 points of customization to realize your vision. From more than 50 mash bills (and counting) to barrel char level to the specs in our state of the art lab, Lofted Custom Spirits was built to distill your exact vision. How long does it take for my bourbon to be delivered?
That all depends on the product. If you need it now, we can work with you to select from our inventory of aged bourbons. If you prefer to start from your own custom distillate, then it’s up to you how long you’d like to wait to get your aged product to market.
Do you provide bottling, labeling and packaging services?
Yes — whether you distill with us or just need us to take care of the last steps, our packaging facilities can handle it.
Can I store my bourbon with you?
Yes, we offer storage and aging to all of our partners.

What are your lab capabilities?
We have a full-service, state of the art lab that checks everything from Ph to ABV, turbidity to stability, color to flavor profile and dry goods testing to ensure the highest quality product throughout the process.
